Susanna Taxis married Burbage Brock 1801
George Frederick Taxis arrived in Philadelphia aboard the ship Eastern Branch from Rotterdam and Portsmouth and took the oath of allegiance to King George II on 3 October 1753. He was born in February 1731 in Germany. He married ca 1758 Margaret Christine Baisley. Family tradition says that this marriage took place in a "Dutch Church" in New Jersey which burned down, destroying all records. The family moved to Lancaster PA where they appear in records of the Lutheran church. By 1771 they had moved to Schaefferstown PA where again they were active members of the Lutheran church. Ultimately the Taxis family headed east living first in Germantown and ultimately in Philadelphia. Both George Frederick and Margaret Christine died there in 1795.
