"This compilation of genealogical materials on my forebears makes no pretense to being a complete record of any of the families. It is, rather, a gathering together of the gleanings I have been able to collect over a period of 20 years. It represents such diverse sources as the personal recollections of relatives now deceased and official census records, church registers and DAR application papers.

My principal motive in bringing the results of my research into this form is to assure its preservation for my grandchildren, with the hope that they will cherish their heritage as I have. Any corrections or additions are most welcome."
